Benefits of Membership
In addition to an e-mail account and a web page you'll gain access to a high performance robust platform on which you can develop a variety of software. Compilers or interpreters exist for languages such as C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, and a host of others. There are also a large number of applications that do everything from word processing and spreadsheets to graphics manipulation. If we don't have something ask for it and we'll install it.
Our office also offers a great place to work on your own computer hardware and software. Need help getting something to work? We'd be glad to help you figure it out. Need Linux installed, we can show you how to do that too. You'll never leave the office without learning something new.
How do I Join?
Come on down to 2244 Kohrman any time you see the door to our office open (we don't bite....honest) or stop by during a meeting. All you need to do is to fill out a membership application, agree to WMU's computer ethics policy, and pay your dues. That's it. We can usually set up your account on the spot. After that you can try out your new account right there in our office. Oh, and don't forget your student ID.
So Where is the Office?
Our Office is located on the second floor of Kohrman Hall in room 2244. There is a nifty sign on our door in addition to a variety of other misc. items that have been stuck there since the move. It's a brand new location.
How much does it cost?
Ahh yes....the most important question. Here is some information.
- Student Membership: $10.00/year - gets you an account and a web page
- Organizational Membership: $20.00/year - gets you an account, a web page, and a self-administered mailing list
$30.00 if we take care of the list - Platinum membership $3500.00 - For this you can take yakko home
