That's right, March 29-30 to be exact! This is an important point as
originally the convention was announced as being slightly earlier, so mark
your calendars and spread the word.

Everything has been falling into place beautifully for this year's
Marmalade Dog without so much as a word to this list. However while there
are some great events planned (including some very special ones not yet on
the web site) the convention could definitely use more. So if you haven't
signed up yet and think you've got what it takes, why not run an event?

"But what do I get out of it?" you might ask. Besides the chance to
expose a larger audience to your favorite game, as always running an event
at Marmalade Dog scores you free admission for the day(s) you run. Unlike
most conventions Marmalade Dog does not (in most cases) charge event fees,
so this is quite a good deal.

To run an event simply fill out the GM form on our web site:

Here are a few of the things we're planning for this year's Marmalade Dog
that haven't quite made it to the web site:

* Special guests! Marmalade Dog has not featured a special guest since
Tom Wham (board game designer extraordinaire) graced us with his presence
in double-aught. Well while it isn't official yet we're currently working
our contacts to bring in a couple of people you'll definitely want to
meet. Nothing is set in stone yet, however we're very close...

* Anime screening! If you attended Marmalade Dog 4 back in '99 then
perhaps you remember this event. Unfortunately back then it was held in a
separate building that you had to walk uphill both ways to get to and
from. Well Anime Addicts is bringing it back and this time the plan is to
put it in a room just down the hall from the convention proper.

* Not one but TWO charities! More charities = more cool stuff to win at
our charity auction. More details to follow.

* Bigger vendors! Both the local Riders Hobby and the Wizards of the
Coast Store in Grand Rapids will be running booths and many others have
expressed interest. If you want to become one of the latter simply reply
to this e-mail. As always vendors at Marmalade Dog pay nothing.

* Bigger LAN party! Two of the local LAN party organizations will not be
running events in the month of March so we're expecting much higher
attendance at this event than last year.

Is that all Marmalade Dog 8 has up its sleeves? Let's just say that both
Warhammer and RPGA Living Greyhawk players should keep an eye out for
future mailings to this list as well as the web site.
